July 4th Picnic at UCSD

Join us for a picnic at the Martin Johnson House on the Scripps Institution of Oceanography campus!

There'll be games, pages to color and take home, balloon animals to make and take home, and a picnic supper with the following menu:

Chips and Dips

Hot dogs with Buns and condiments

Corn on the Cob

Vegetarian (vegan) baked beans

Potato Salad (with eggs)

Brownies and Watermelon

Wine and Lemonade

In making your reservations, please list each ticket separately with the name of the attendee. THANK YOU! Each attendee will receive a nametag when checking in at the picnic!

Reservations are due by Wednesday, June 28, 6:00 pm!

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

There is no ID or minimum age requirements to come to this picnic. You simply need to make a reservation for each person and pay the fee. Children under 2 years are FREE. Chidlren 2 - 12 will pay half price.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

DIRECTIONS & PARKING:

From the campus, Wind down La Jolla Shores Drive. Turn right at Naga Way (Look for Scripps sign.)

From La Jolla Shores, driving up the hill going north: Turn left on Naga Way (Sharp turn! Look for Scripps sign.) When the road forks, take to the one to the right. Drive up the road until you come to three small white cottages on the left. Look for Martin Johnson House or T29.

You may park in lots P011, P012, P013, P014 for free because it is a University holiday and you will not be ticketed.

The #30 bus may be taken from the UTC Transit Center (or boarded on campus at various stops) which will bring you to Naga Way of SIO and it's short walk from there. Please check the holiday schedule for this route.

Or you may walk from the campus down the hill--it is not far!

What can I bring into the event?

Bring a blanket or beach chair to sit on because chairs will only be provided during the supper. You will want to stay and watch the fireworks across the water at the Cove and/or the Country Club and you will need something to sit or lie on!

What's the refund policy?

If you find you cannot attend after you have paid, you will get a refund provided you let the organizers know BY JUNE 28, because after that date the food will already have been purchased for you.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You do not need to bring the ticket with you because you will have a nametag which will be waiting for you at the picnic. Please be sure to enter names of ALL attendees in the Eventbrite page by making separate purchases for each person on a separate line!

Can I update my registration information?

Yes, by contacting the organizer: email Georgina at

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes. If you find you cannot attned, you may transfer your ticket to someone else, but please let the organizer know so that a nametag can be printed for your substitute. Organizer = Georgina

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

No--We prefer that the names match! If you need to change names or guests, please contact the organizer!
